i *hate* this...
you're working merrily along on a project, and it looks great. you go to try it on, and it's about 1/4" too small. big enough to go on, but small enough that it really distorts the pattern.

it's a sock. looks great, right?
right. i put it on, and it gets all distorted. *sigh* i have to decide if i should continue, or if i should rip back to the cuff and do a different pattern for the sides. one that's about 3 or 4 stitches wider.
(yarn is some random wool i picked up at a sale, the blue i dyed. it's not quite fingering weight.)
on the other hand, the garden shawl is going well. even if it looks like some sort of weird mutant hat.
the yarn is a 50/50 merino cashmere cream colored laceweight.
in the middle (off center) is the beginning of the leaf bit and the first flower in the "path".
