need to get pictures, but have actually accomplished a fair amount recently. being not sick helps a lot.

finally finished the first fairisle sock. the second is nearly at the heel.

the shawl is depressingly slow. i'm down to three edging repeats in an hour, which leaves 45+ hours to knit. yay. i was so excited to be getting to the edging... it really seemed like i could see the light at the end of the tunnel. but it was a fig newton of my imagination.

so, i banged out this cowlneck thing, originally it was supposed to be a hat. but it turned out that i had knit it a little too large around (somehow, a 20" hat is too big for my 22" head) and quite a bit too short. undoing a few rows and some finagling, turned 60 yards of super bulky yarn into this thing that is going to be my sister's christmas present, since she has to walk to work and well, the city happens to be cold and windy this time of year.

did a few rows here and there on my other sock made from some varigated purple Trekking XXL that i picked up on our vacation at the cape this summer. i don't know if i am really that excited about it. it's so ... BORING, but not boring enough that it is totally mindless. a k3p1 rib for the top of the foot to give it some stretch is just not doing it for me. i think i need to find a different toe for this one. the short row toe is just not working for me with this pair. though, it's the only one i know for toe up, and since i only have the one ball, i have NO idea how far i can go... so i guess it's time to go hunting for new patterns.

oops, i've managed to stay up till 2 am. baaaad.
